I'm just curious how it happened, especially in this time of the year?

  1. Repeated low pressure and stalled cool fronts not moving any further south accompanied by southern winds carrying very humid air into an unstable air mass.  Results were repeated heavy rainfall traveling the same areas several times amounts were at or near 6-10 inches.

    This area is typically known as tornado alley.  These tornadoes are formed from thunderstorm super cells.  These thunderstorms produce heavy rain but generally not in the same area day after day.
