  1. Zeus's father, Cronos, was basically the main Titan. Cronos came to power by overthrowing his father, Heaven, but after that he was afraid that his children would do the same to him so when they were born he would swallow them. But Zeus's mother, Rhea, saved him by hiding him and wrapping a large rock in blankets and giving that to Cronos instead. When Zeus was older he cut his father's stomach open and released his brothers and sisters. Then they overthrew the Titans and banished them to various places when he won.

  2. Zeus was the son of a titan and a mortal. his father tried to devour him, but his mother switched him for a stone. His father ate the stone thinking that it was Zeus. Zeus later defeated his father slicing open his stomach and releasing his brothers and sisters, the other gods of Olypus. This incident caused Zeus to hate the titans and in his rage began the war of the titans.

  3. Sons overthrowing their fathers, or children overthrowing their parents, is a common theme in mythology.  Even in real life your children will eventually supplant you...although not quite as bloodily or forcefully as in myths.

Besides, Zeus' father (I believe Uranus was his name) was not very nice to anyone, including his own children.
