What caused you to believe in ghosts?

What caused you to believe in ghosts?

Some book I read when I was 8 years old.  Then I grew up, learned about science and reality, and figured out that ghosts aren't real.

I saw one in 1972. Yes I had been asleep, one reason it took me years to accept the fact I had actually seen a ghost.

I woke up and this old man was standing by my bed. I sat up thinking I was still dreaming and forced myself awake. Not believing what I saw. I started yelling at him to get out of my house then my first wife woke up and saw him and started screaming. I then started to get out of  bed to physically remove him from my house and he then pointed his finger at me and said:" NO! YOU GET OUT OF MY HOUSE. " Then he just vanished into thin  air.

Being the skeptic I was I refused to believe what I saw and went through the house and found all doors and window locked and no sign of entry or intruder anywhere.

Next day I was across the street at the house of a high school friend who grew up there and I told him about it and he asked me to describe the old man and he got a funny look on his face, went inside and came out with a photo and asked if this is who I saw and it was. He said that was the old man who lived there the last several years and that he died in the bedroom and his grown kids could not keep the House rented.

Growing up in my parents house.  I heard running down the stairs and walking in the hall way.  A friend of mine saw him and so did my two nieces.  My dad recently told me that on occasion he it feels like someone is sitting on the bed.

I saw a real ghost and It was my friend's husband in their house ,standing and looking at me( wearing white shirt and black pants also he float) then because of my fear of ghost I actually run and go outside the house. He was died a couple of years ago and I try to know why he show to me ,I think that he has some reason why he should do that.

Same I seen one at age 9 around 12:00 in the hall way when I was going to use the bathroom, scared the h**l out of me and I thought I was crazy, very weird experience.

Part of my disbelief rests on the fact that I haven't seen one.
