  1. a la nina is cause by a shift in the altantic air stream  cuaseing cooler weather, for a little while, and does little with global warming in the end.

the earth has cycles that it constanly is going through. it getting warmer is just the beging of the end.  as the ocean gets warmer certain microbes will grow in population expotentially, and these will realease great amounts of carbon dioxide cuase futher global warming, killing off more life on earth untill all are dead and a new stage is set.

this is how every cycle on earth ended/started(except the asteroid incidencce). the only way we could stop this is reverse carbon release so far that oxygen is created more often.  This is dramatic and nearly impossible

  2. There is no global warming that needs to be "solved." What exists of global warming is natural and necessary - it's what melted the ice ages.

Stop listening to that liberal lunatic Gore, who's running around like a madman claiming in essence that "the sky is falling." Believing in his version of global warming is like believing that the moon landing was fake, or in 9-11 conspiracy theories...or like believing in Santa Claus or the tooth fairy.

Worrying about global warming is dangerous, and it's a distractiion from our real problems and from our national security. Gore has presented a pack of lies and he's a sociopath, in my opinion. His ridiculous rantings and fibs have now been debunked by hundreds of prominent scientists.

Where is Gore during this cold spring? Hiding like a ground hog, waiting to come out in the summer to avoid embarrassment?

  3. We don't know what causes one.

But it's nowhere near as powerful as global warming.  Look at this chart.  Some of the drops in temperature for a single year are La Ninas.  But global warming ALWAYS wins.

We need to reduce our emissions of greenhouse gases.  We can do that, without ruining our lives, and it's the only real solution.

  4. we don't relay know but there are several theory's.

no we could not of any of these theory's are correct. it would only cool the earth for a few years anyway before the waters warmed and a la nino followed releasing that heat.

  5. I'm pretty sure it a dramatic change in temperature that causes a   La Nina. I don't think it's possible to create one at this point in time but in the future we most likely will be able to. But I'm not sure if it would solve global warming, if it did it would be at the expense of thousands of people.

Btw- Joseph C. you are only partially right, it is natural but the use of all of the fossil fuels  has dramatically sped up the process

  6. There are several theories as to what causes El Niño and La Niña, but we don't really know.  The nature of weather cycles is that they're chaotic and rather unpredictable.

The answer to your second question is no.  Even if we could create an artificial La Niña, it would not solve global warming.  The reason La Niña causes cooling is that it brings deep cold ocean waters to the surface, which then absorb heat.  However, if the planet continues to warm, this heat will not dissipate, and eventually there won't be sufficiently cold ocean waters left to absorb heat.
