What causes a lower radiator to collapse. the hose is new?

  1. you might also want to check to see if your radiator is plugged up.


  2. You need to buy or find a radiator hose inner spring to put inside the hose to keep it from being sucked shut from the inside.  Common problem in the olden days.

  3. In rads the lower rad hose feeds the coolant to the engine and returns out to the top of the rad. Take a vacuum cleaner for instance and plug the hose end.....the hose starts to contract like your lower rad hose. I have several old cars from the 60s and 70s and I flush them every few years. I think that is your problem. Some people buy used cars and have no clue what the old owner did to them...case in point that "barrs stop leak" Sure it works for awhile but think about what it can do to the inside of your motor and rad.

    Try a rad/engine flush...
