Question:

What causes a person to "interfere" with electrical equipment?

I have had a problem for the last 15 years or so where I seem to "interfere" with electrical equipment. For example, I can't wear watches, I burn out tradition incandescent light bulbs like most people change their drawers, I get all kind of feed back from the intercom system in the hospital where I work (in the form of static...the speakers actually go off as I walk down the hall....it's kind of a joke to my co-workers - some of who have decided I'm possessed - LOL), computers freeze up on me frequently and I completely fried our last home pc....any others out there with similar problems. I assume it has something to do with electromagnetic fields....but not positive about that...any ideas?

  1. You have what is called the 'Electra Compelex' (sorry it's a joke)

    Try to avoid synthetic fabrics.

  2. You just need to ground yourself. Put your wrists under cold water this will help ground you at work. Do not wear shoe soles that build static. Imagine that you are a tree and that the roots go deep into the earth, this will help ground you. You would be very good at Qigong or Reiki, these are people who work with that energy that you don't yet know how to manage. Good Luck :)

  3. I've heard of this happening. For one thing..I'd make sure it's in my medical records and maybe even wear it on one of those medical id bracelets. What's gonna happen if you have a heart attack and they use those "paddles" on you? And what would happen if you had an MRI and all those things? I think I'd quit treating this as a "fascination" and really get someone to help me with it. Hopefully , you  won't attract lightning. They might have been doing research on this somewhere and have some help for you. Good Luck.

EDIT Is it like when they tell you not to use a cellphone in the ER? You might interfere with the machines there in the same way. You should find out if this could happen.(for your sake and the sake of others it could harm)

  4. I have the same effect on florescent lights, street lights, and regular incandescent bulbs. When I was young I killed watches by just looking at them.  They sell special watches for people like us.  Seiko and Puslar have then. Just go to a watch / jewelry store and tell them what you need. They know about this stuff.  Some people just generate power.

  5. The average human generates around 34 volts of electricity from the mitochondria within each cell in our bodies. This voltage slightly fluctuates based upon many variables, such as mood and diet. I too have similar problems with lights, particularly incandecent bulbs in homes and street lamps. I cannot wear watches, carry cd players, or use most any battery powered devices because I seem to somehow drain these devices of all power in a matter of minutes. Many of my friends have seen light bulbs explode or flash out when I lose my temper. I can sometimes force a lightbulb to become brighter and brighter until it burns out from an overvoltage. I do not know how this works exactly, however I have heard that it may be something to do with a person's magnesium intake. I know that some people are skeptical until they see the lights around me blow out..in sequence. I know that retailers despise when I hold a large value pack of batteries in my hands and walk around the store with them, only to nearly discharge all of them inside the package. On a brighter note, it may actually have something to do with being grounded. I remember only one time that I have ever been forced to change a car battery out of any one of my vehicles, but also remember shocking my new supervisor with a jolt of static that lit up the room from three feet away when simply attempting to shake hands with her. Maybe one day I will not be too afraid of electrocuting my dates in the dark, cold winter nights while simply attempting to kiss them. (you have no idea how annoying this is!!!) I also can pick up on radio waves and sometimes they are strong enough to barely hear. I had played a type of guessing game with my friends when I was little. The game involved me guessing what song was playing on the radio from my favorite station, followed by a friend flipping on the radio to reveal if I was correct or not. This usually took place one hour between guesses and I usually got it right. Occasionally, the high frequency noise (capacitors charging??) within televisions and microwave ovens will hurt my head with a sharp pain, similar to an earache, but deeper and very sharp. I can even use this noise to navigate myself in a dark room or tell if a friend is moving around in the room as the movement causes the sound to change "shape" in the room. -Hope this can help.

  6. The only natural explanation is that you have had some bad luck with electronics.  On top of that you are probably exercising a little confirmation bias when you remember the things that went wrong but don't take note of things that don't go wrong.  If you were electronically jinxed then *everything* you touch would fizzle, not just a few things.

My mother goes through watches all the time.  It's because she buys cheap watches.

My cell phone causes speaker buzzing.  My old Sprint phone didn't, but my AT&T iPhone does.  It can be quite loud and the range is enough that it causes my coworkers' (phone) speakers to buzz as well.

The human body does emit an electrical field, but it is so minute as to have little or no effect on things around it.  The field diminishes to such a rapid degree that if you could measure 10 units (whatever those units are) one inch away from your body you would only be able to measure 1 unit two inches away from your body.

So it's not magnetic or electric.  It's probably just bad luck, confirmation bias, some other contributing factor you're unaware of and, honestly, possibly a bit of user error too.

If you have serious concerns you need to document this.  Get a doctor or other impartial party involved.  Measure this effect and try to reproduce it.  Unless you get hard data that points only to you as the cause you are not going to be taken seriously.

  7. Wear natural fabrics and shoes.Wouldn't your "interference"be problematic in your line of work. With all that electronic equipment keeping people alive in hospitals.

  8. Um, ... Maybe you ARE possesed, or maybe you have superpowers lol.

But seriously maybe it's your clothing or staticky hair. See if your computer dies when your wearing little or no clothing.

Or maybe all the electronics in ur area suck, and you just appear to be an electronic killer, dyu live out in the boondocks? Regardless, stay away from my ipod and my TV's. :)

  9. Whoa... so you have that problem too huh? lmao Mine is just static electricity... but lololol that is so cute.... :o)

A few months ago I had static electricity ALL over me... I was shocking people and myself when I touched stuff, even wood. All my clothes were sticking to me constantly and I use 4 dryer sheets in each load of clothes... So I don't know either. Try rubbing your hands together before you touch stuff or get near things like that. lol sorry, just a suggestion.

  10. I have some of the same problems, especially with watches!  I can't carry a cell phone in my pocket, I kill the battery.  I kill the battery on Blue tooth ear peaces too.

Computers don't "FRY" with me because I have all of mine on a surge protector.  When I have a computer opened up to work on it, I wear a ESD band and ground myself.

The reason you don't interfere with the equipment at work is because everything is grounded in hospitals!  3 prong plug ins.

At home you can make sure all your lamps, and other electronics are grounded.  You can get 3 prong adapters at the hardware store.  If you put your radio on one you will find that it helps the reception too!

I have NO idea what causes it, but your not alone.

  11. My family has the same things happen to us.  i think you are right , and is related to the human energy- magnetic field that we put out.  Kind of related to Einstein's E=mc^2.

The coolest was when my wife was pissed off and touched the microwave, and an electrical arc zoomed around the inside of it, and then flashed around the numbers.  it never worked again.  We still tease her about it.  lol

    Vic

  12. first off I'd get checked for radiation emissions with a Geiger-Mueller counter and or an EMF reader because that isn't natural to have that kind of interference everything emitt's EMF's but that is way too much interference

  13. a following presence or ghost that has a personal vendetta with you. seriously.

  14. I'm not a doctor, but it sounds as if you have a higher concentration of electrical energy than normal.

I bet you are fun at parties. : ]
