What causes a region's climate?

  1. The altitude definately.  The distance away from the ocean is  another factor. Regions closer to ocean have cooler climates and will often have fog.  Regions on lower ground such as deserts (Death Valley) will have much warmer climates than those that are on higher land.

      Also the closer the region is to the equator is an important factor.  Most of the tropics are closer to the equator, while the north and south poles, and Antarctica are have frigid climates since they are  further away.
