WHAT IS IT that goes on to actually cause a sneeze? Not interested in answers like "allergies" - that's not what I'm asking.

  5. its an instinctive response to dislodge anything caught in the nasal canal, the little hairs in the nose are "stimulated" then cause this response.

  6. irritations from foreign bacteria induce a human reflex called a sneeze. Your nose becomes irritated from dust particles or bacteria that the body considers harmful, and therefore a reflex happens to expel the particles from the lungs. Also an allergy is in actuality a heightened and unusual response to a foreign material or particle which induces sneezing to rid the body. This only happens when you are breathing in air that is tainted with the particles of your allergen and therefore you will sneeze when confronted with the object in question(e.g. cat dander or dust)and eating a food you are allergic to will instead trigger a more severe allergic reaction most likely with hives and a skin rash(e.g. cat dander will only make you sneeze but eating peanuts(if you're allergic)will trigger an immunologic response and a rash will appear)
