I had it yesterday and went to the hospital but they didn't say what was wrong other then the abdominal pain.

Could it be the flu or a cold?

  1. The simple answer is lots of things.  you didn't say whether you are having trouble with bowel movements- if you aren't going, you could be having excessive cramping/gas trying to move stool out of your system.   If you have diarrhea, you may have a stomach bug.  If the pain is high and in the middle of your chest/stomach area, you may have heartburn, or an ulcer.

You may have eaten something that caused a great deal of gas- and that can hurt a great deal.

I suggest, if if you haven't already taken anything, try some tylenol if you are having high stomach pain or ibuprofen if you are having lower discomfort.  If you are constipated, you probably want to increase the fiber  and water in your diet.

If you do have a stomach bug, take in only fluids such as gatorade, don't eat any dairy products, and when you are ready to start eating again, start with plain rice, or rice cooked in chicken broth, baked potatoes(no butter or sour cream), bananas, plan pasta.
