  1. There is something wrong with your sentence structure, so I'm not sure exactly what you are asking.  

    Blood has the natural tendency to clot (the clotting factors are present in blood) but the clotting system is kept in check so blood remains in liquid form.

    Do you want to know what causes blood to clot?  Or what prevents blood from clotting, which is what the term "anticoagulation" mean?
