There's a guy we know who lives near us and he has small black spots almost like freckles on the sides of his lower lip. He's a bit ugly but a real nice guy. He smells greasy like he hasn't had a bath in a while every time we meet him and I'm no doctor but could that have something to do with that?

  1. markers

  2. It could be skin cancer due to smoking or it could be from chewing dip (chewing tobacco) . Have him get it checked out

  3. Freckles and irregularly shaped brownish areas (melanotic macules) are common around the lips and may last for many years. These marks are not cause for concern. Multiple, small, scattered brownish black spots may be a sign of a hereditary disease called Peutz-Jeghers syndrome, in which polyps form in the stomach and intestines.  Here is a link to more info about Peutz-Jeghers syndrome which sounds like what you are descrbing to me.

  4. Venereal disease.

  5. It could possibly be a cold sore. If not it's a freckle. You can get freckles anywhere. And since you say he doesn't bathe regularly it could be dirt, maybe even his lunch.
