  1. my mom always told me they were from talking too much ; )

  2. Canker sores are caused by a virus, called Herpes Simplex 1. For a while I was getting a smallpox shot every week for a month, then one a month for several months. My dermatologist found a lot of success with these, but, when he passed away suddenly from an heart attack his partners decided not to use the treatment any longer. It is a shame, too, because they really did work. He also told me to take one L-lysine (500 mg) 2 times a day for a month, then one a day forever for a maintenance dose. This can be purchased over the counter in the vitamin section of most stores. There is a prescription called Zovirax which I have also used. It comes in tablet form to use at the first sign of stinging or break-outs and it also comes in an ointment which helps to dry them up. Sometimes, it dries them to the point of cracking every time you move your mouth. When that begins to happen, I use an over the counter creme and cold stick called Super Lysine Plus. I really like the cold stick best. It seems to get rid of them as fast as anything else does and it is not so drying. Once you have your first break-out of Herpes, you will more than likely have the virus for life as it lies dormant at the nearest nerve from your break-out point .It returns when your resistance is down or from sunning too much. There is no cure as of yet. I wish you luck handling this annoying problem, but it is something you can live with and learn to control before they get too big and sore.

  3. its a virus im pretty sure

I use the spray for sore throats when i get them it nums it so it doesnt sting:] good luck

  4. canker sores are technically a form of herpes, so they are a virus and they will keep coming back

however, usually you're more prone to them while fighting off other illnesses, so they come out then when your immune system is weak

to make them go away sooner, you can apply a thin coat of theis stuff called 'alum' to them...this creates a small defense against any irritation that could potentially make them worse
