  1. Texting too much?  Typing too much?  It could be a form of carpal tunnel syndrome or epicondylitis (tennis elbow).  Ice, rest, and pain medication over the counter.  Stop doing what makes it hurt.

  2. I am assuming that you do not have a known injury to the area. Most likely cause is a mild nerve entrapment in your neck. You may have "head forward posture".Your ear opening should line up with the center of your shoulder when viewed from the side. You may be able to find some relief by trying the following . Find the bony prominence on the out side of the elbow. You should have one on the outside one on the inside and one on the back or bottom of the elbow. Poke into the outside muscle starting about one inch from the outside prominence going in the direction of your index finger. You should find several several sore spots. Pick the worst one and press on it until the pain goes away. The pressure should be tolerable but strong and it should take about 1-2 minutes. Find the next two worse spots and do the same. The overall pain should be reduced considerably. You should find another tender spot in the web of your hand between your index finger and thumb mid way between your wrist and the edge of the web of your thumb. Use moderate pressure in the same way until the pain goes away. The pain should go down even more. At this point the pain should be completely gone or reduced by about 60-80%.  You can repeat this again the following day or for several days if it is helping considerably. If this goes on for more that a week See a Chiropractor, Osteopath that does manipulation or another health care practitionerer.
