What causes kidney stones?

How can I prevent them? They sound so painful and scary.

  1. The most common cause of kidney stones is the presence of too much calcium in the urine.  They are more common in whites, men, those who have had an episode of kidney stones in the past, those whose relatives have had kidney stones, and people older than 30.


  2. Stay hydrated as best you can.  It has to do with genetics as well.

  3. One thing i know can cause kidney stones is excess of calcium. The best way to prevent them is to drink lots of water, and occasionally drink water with some lemon squeezed in it to break up potential stones.

  4. go to the restroom when u you u want to pee, don't ever hold it
