  1. Caused by a disturbance in the gene pattern (Hereditary) Accident of birth, Infectious illnes in pregnancy.

    Each type of disability has a different cause.


  2. The term is cerebral palsy (not spastic) and is usually caused by oxygen deprivation at birth.

    The term spastic is not a medical term to desribe a disease it is a term to describe a jerky movement caused by muscle spasm. People who have cerebral palsy for instance may have this jerky movement and so do people suffering from Parkinson's although this movement is a bit more of a tremor.

    The cerebral cortex of the brain can be damaged before birth, during birth or after birth. The reasons for the damage can be physical say from a difficult delivery at birth.

    Anyone can sustain this type of injury.
