What causes people to become killers and rapists?

Society/their parents/friend/experiences.....AKA, everything in their life when they are growing up.

according to the theorists that im learning about right now. it is a mixture of environment and the fact that people seek pleasure but avoid pain. hence if crime, doesnt matter what type of crime whether is homicide or theft or rape, gives someone pleasure then they will most likely do it. unless they know the pain, or punishment, at the end will be greater in the end and will make the pleasure seem pointless.

I think it's a mix of childhood abuse, mental illness and brain damage. There have been studies that show that is the case for the majority of these criminals. There are a few that doesn't apply to, but that's considered the trifecta of what makes a monster.

as for killers they start out like everybody else,then some trauma interrupt there growing cycle and they become angry,at everything and anything the person becomes someone else when they kill

I think they are genetic mutations.  I think they are born that way, and if there was some way of targeting the gene or what not that is responsible for this mental illness, we could eradicate these predators.

With a lack of "attachment" some children fail to have "empathy" develop in their brain. This, combined with depression, rage, psychosis, leaves them vulnerable for evil actions.
