Global warming is but a component, in a group of destructive forces at work such as ;deforestation,desertification,Subsequen... wind and Water erosion,soil and water contamination ,irresponsible or wasteful utilization of bio resources and air pollution.

WHICH WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR.

A while ago one of NASA's top scientists concluded that the Arctic Ocean could be nearly ice-free within five years, much faster than all previous predictions.

when the north pole is gone , you may have polar bears soon in America ,looking for a home ,

Calculations do not include the accumulative ,speeding up ,factor with time. the increase in water temperature will get faster all the time as well as the melting, when the ice is all gone the deeper cold Ocean currents will be drastically affected,which in turn will affect the warm currents,since all moving bodies of water are connected in series.

This will affect coastal climates ,world wide ,almost instantly. All aquatic flora and fauna will be affected,many dying off and others becoming invasive,

And recently In Chiapas ,and Tabasco in Mexico .more then a million people became homeless overnight with water coming up to their roofs ,because of rains from super evaporation from the forests,this had never happened before. Millions of animals died.

In India 3000 people died because of super storms .

.A few years ago in Europe 3500 people,died during a heat wave ,many of them in France .

Right now the average death toll annually is 150.000 due to Global warming

. these figures are already out of date and are expected to double soon.

In Northern China millions of people are running for their lives because regular dust storms so far have buried 900 villages under the sand and the whole of northern China is turning into a dessert.

The Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year all around the edges ,like a slow burning fire shriveling up their neighbors In the Kalahari huge rivers have dried up and thousand of species are gone due to their habitats disappearing .

The biggest changes are invisible at micro biotic levels species are becoming extinct ,others are multiplying ,

This affects the insect populations that follow ,and changes in that ,affect all that follows in the food chains ,

in the last 300 years half of the planets forests have gone

and in the last 50 years

half of our wet lands ,rain forests and ice fields .and 3000 species of animals .

We are now witnessing a mass Extinction of animals and plants of Biblical proportions,equal since the disappearance of the dinosaurs

Get back to Earth already.  Global warming is not a propaganda and it has come to the point at which it is a problem because the scientific community has mounds of evidence to support the reality that it is a dire problem with dire consequences.

Love of life, and the desire for my grandson to enjoy the same quality of life I did.

It's a bigger problem if we sit back on our haunches.  All the more harder to act, and quite possibly too little, too late.

Call me action oriented.  Call me paranoid.  Call me well informed.  Call me anything you want, but step out of the way and let the people who care do what needs to be done to address a serious situation.  That includes, by word if not action, all of the Presidential candidates.

Global warming or climate change is happening, it always was. The question is have we caused it?

My opinion is that is a cycle, like it has for thousands of years.

The problem is that through our industrialisation and deforestation we have disrupted the natural cycle and could possibly have caused the cycle to speed up.

Can we stop climate change? Probably not

Can we slow it down so that we can cope with the effects, well if we increase our energy efficiency and reduce the amount of emissions in the air, then not only are we reducing pollution, better for our health but we are saving natural resources.

Polarity on the subject is not the way forward, way up the arguments and decided somewhere in the middle.

I think the most profound evidence, aside from all the professional data, is that little voice in all of us that is screaming, "What are you doing to your world?"  

Have you ever seen what happens to an aquarium when you toss in a golf ball that has been used on a golf course?  The fish all die.  What happens if not enough oxygen is released into an aquarium, or if the pH /nitrates /ammonia get out of balance?  The fish all die.  Sometimes it takes awhile, but they die if you don't take steps to fix the problem.   We've all had fish tanks, we all know how delicate an ecosystem can be.  We are doing the same thing to our planet, but no one wants to take any responsibility for our part in this.   People are starting to wake up, look at reality, and take action to slow/reverse the damage we have done.    

If that makes us all sheep falling for propaganda, then "baaaaaaa"

Facts speak louder than words.  The ice caps are melting.  The last great melt was a chunk of ice the size of Rhode Island.  Several more of these and the oceans will start to rise.

People will believe anything they see on tv and think organizations like Greenpeace and the Sierra Club are non-biased. Everyone wants to blame big oil but no one looks at companies like GE and the amount of money they stand to gain. Ever wonder why NBC is so Global Warming leaning.......they are owned by GE. Not saying that our climate isn't changing but it has been doing that since the dawn of time.

Do you have any evidence that global warming does not exist or that it is not caused by man? I need some for a school project. Of course in college you cannot use anything that is not published in a peer reviewed journal. I cannot find any. I have found 7 articles that say that the results will not be as bad as most of the models have shown.

I have the ability to search all journal articles published since 1988, and none dispute the fact.

I can publish anything I want on the internet, so anything that is only published on the internet is considered untrue.

It is funny to look at alarmists treating glaciers as an endangered species.   Glaciers may melt back some more as they have for the last few thousand years.  We are in an interglacial period of an Ice Age.  Some people need to be reminded of that obvious point.  

Some people are prone to accept gloomy forecasts even in blindness to the obvious evidence.  Warmth is a good thing but they have convinced themselves to fear a nice warm day.  They should fear cold since it is far worse.  

Ever since the Babalonians, there have been people talking about the end of days.  Every generation is full of those that think their generation is special, that their generation is the last, that their generation is using up all the resources, that we are all surely going to die.  It seems to me to be an interesting psychosis that borders on paranoia.  

Guilt seems to play a big role.  Those alarmist always use guilt to pursuade others.  They act as if they are leaders in a cause.  Most are probably well meaning and they will dispise my answer and I am sure to get lots of down arrows if not reporting.  Last time I was reported in a similar question suggesting I didn't answer the question.  Sometimes the truth hits to close to home I think.
