And how do you get rid of them. Are they contagious? Will they go away on their own or do they need to be removed by a doctor?

  1. It is not pleasant, but I have cut some off myself with fingernail scissors. They are probably caused by genetics and aging.

  2. I started having tiny skin tags all over my body when I was pregnant with my 2nd child. Maybe hormonal changes can cause it. I had my skin tags removed by a doctor. It wasn't so bad at all. The doctor stretches the skin tag away from your body to make the cut where the smallest part is. It's not painful at all. From a pain scale 1-10 I would rate the pain 3.
