What causes something to stick to a wet object even after the object drys?

I know it has something to do with hydrogen bonding, but what exactly happens?

  1. Actually it would likely be due to the impurties in the water being left behind and acting like glue.  If the water is gone and the objects don't happen to contain hydrogen any hydrogen bonding is not possible.
