  2. They're all genetic diseases. There is currently a treatment for PKU, the other ones are incurable that I know.

    PKU requires the person affected to keep a strict diet including only the minimum amount of phenylalanine needed for protein building. I'm not sure whether this is for life or until the end of adolescence, because I remember women must restart the diet ASAP if they're planning a child or find themselves pregnant.

    There are genetic tests available for Tay-Sachs. I'm not sure about albinism because the number of genes involved is higher.
