  1. It seems to be an excess of adrenaline, the 'fight or flight' hormone. Theatrical butterflies go away once the show starts.


  2. It is your intestines moving around. If you go really fast in a downward direction, they move the most. Like on a roller coaster. They are victim to the force of gravity as much as everything else. They also move involuntarily when they remove waste and digest food. You are more sensitive to your involuntary movements when you are nervous or frightened. That is why they seem more pronounced. It is easy to take your mind off of it. The first step to conquering stage fright.
