  2. El Nino is a warm ocean current. This current warms the air abone it. This warm air can hold more water vapor than cooler air.  The air over the oceans usually becomes saturated. It is this saturated air that brings moisture over the land.

    When over the land, condensation and precipitation occure - due to orographic, convectional and frontal movements of air.

    This results in rain, snow, hail, sleet etc.

    The warmer the air over the sea tha more moisture it brings over the land and the higher the rainfall.
