I only water my plant once a week and keep it in the window. I did notice these white balls in the dirt. What are they? I don't understand why all the leaves keep turning yellow.

  1. maybe youre watering toomuch, always feel the soil with your finger first, let it dry before the next watering. also it may be the lighting, too much or not enough, maybe its in a draft.

  2. The white balls are either perlite to retain moisture..and if they are perfectly round they are a fertilizer (slow release)..that they put in the growing medium..yellow leaves sounds like the soil is too dense and not draining good..or the container has no drainage..

  3. Depending on the type of plant we are talking about here you could be any number of problems--too much water--not enough water--two much light not enough light---However if you have had the plant for a long time and in the same location with the same watering schedule then your little buddy may be root bound and need a larger pot and fresh dirt. Remember indoor plants do not get the same nutrients in their soil as outdoor plants unless you add them. The best thing you can possibly do is to research your type of plant to see what it really needs. The little white balls sound like fertilizers to me (without seeing a picture).

  4. It can be needing a little more water, or even be getting too much sunlight.
