  1. it really is awful that something so beautiful comes from something as terrible as pollution.

  2. the sun reflecting on it at a certain angle

  3. http://home.hiwaay.net/~krcool/Astro/moo...

  4. Its the way the light is reflected as it comes through the atmosphere here on earth.

Haze And smog cause the air to appear red and orange colors at the right angle.

  5. It's orange here, I'm in Ohio.  This website should have the answer.

  6. This is related to the scattering of light(11th grade Physics).....

We usually see a redder moon or sun near the horizon...As the Earth is nearly a sphere, the light reaching our eyes travel a longer distance & in the process, most of the blue light is scattered away....This makes our eyes see the red hue of the moon....

  7. idk im asking the same question it is also red in sc

  8. usually its from the pollution

  9. Our own atmospheric pollution.changes white light as would a primitive prism.

  10. different spectrums of light , blue have a long wave, red are much shorter.

  11. I'm hearing a lot about the moon being red, and I don't think it should be concerning there's no eclipse today that I'm aware of.

Well, during eclipses, the moon turns red because from the viewpoint of the moon, the light coming to it is filtering through Earth's atmosphere. Basically, the moon sees ALL of the sunsets/sunrises on Earth at the same time. Sunsets and rises are reddish in colour. So all the light that the moon gets is red.

  12. it is usually caused by light refraction from our atmosphere. when you say its BlOoD red, then i blame global warming... -.-

  13. that's because the sun is on the other side.
