  1. In your particular case, my first advice would be SEE AN OPHTHALMOLOGIST. Your dry eye may be well-managed with medication.

Aside from that, do warm compresses! Take a clean shirt or washcloth (never used!) and add warm (but not boiling)  water heated in something that has never come into contact with food, like a new and clean pot. Wring it out while leaving some fluid there, and leave it on your closed eyelids until it cools down. You can repeat this again if it cools off rapidly. Do this before getting ready for bed, and if needed, in the morning.

Also, WEAR A SNUGGLY FITTED SLEEPSHADE when you sleep. This provides a good barrier against moving air and thus, protects against nighttime tear evaporation.

Also, re the eye drops: if you're using eye drops often, bottled drops are NOT the way to go, even though refresh does contain one of the safer preservatives. Your safest bet is still the preservative free drops. Instead of 'refresh tears' buy 'refresh lubricant eye drops (not refresh plus!)' in the -single use- vials. I personally suggest storing them in the fridge, as they're more soothing like that. But yes, refresh is an excellent brand.
