  1. "Global warming" as currently defined by the Eco-Religion is caused by man's release of CO2 from burning fossil fuels.  Their solution is to pay the Eco-Religion money for "carbon credits (absolution)".  "Carbon credits" is Eco-Religion speak for what amounts to "extortion".

    The earth's temperature rises and falls periodically due to changes in solar activity and the earth's wobbling orbit.  The current heating is due to the sun being more active, which is evidenced by a reductiion in the size of Mars' polar ice caps (We don't have SUVs or factories on Mars yet so "humans" are not the cause there!).  When you realize that the energy generated in the center of the sun takes anywhere from 10,000 to 170,000 years to reach the sun's surface, it is no wonder that people have a hard time grasping why the sun is not a constant heat source.  The other problem is that people fail to realize that the earth itself has a radioactive core that produces heat. (Look at what is happening in Chile right now!)

    "Human" CO2 production accounts for a very small percentage of the total CO2 on earth.  The CO2 increases are always seen when the earth's temperature rises because most CO2 is disolved in the oceans and the oceans (much like a carbonated soft drink) release more CO2 when they are warmed.

    So you see, rise and fall of the earth's temperature is natural and can not (and should not) be prevented.  CO2 levels in the atmosphere increase with temperature increase, not the other way around.  Trying to reduce CO2 in the atmosphere by not burning fossil fuel is futile because the CO2 in the oceans will be released to maintain equilibrium.  This is basic high school chemistry. (see Henry's Law below)  Unfortunately, people who don't take sciences in high school grow up to be politicians!

  2. The earth is warming, most likely it's natural, and not our fault. We hardly add any CO2 to the atmosphere, compared to natural levels emitted by animals and natural disasters. We emit about 5% of the total amount of CO2 and that leaves 95% of it natural. And carbon dioxide makes up 0.04% of the entire atmosphere.

  3. OK. Let's think about this whole 'Humans only contribute X% of such and such a gas compared with 90/95/99% which comes from natural sources'.

    Carbon dioxide is released by volcanoes and respiration amongst other things. Lots of it goes into the atmosphere. It is also produced by burning fossil fuels. Fossil fuels make up a small proportion of the total CO2 released (So I've heard).

    So where does the carbon dioxide go? Well it is dissolved into the oceans, absorbed by organisms for their skeletons and also absorbed by photosythesisers for energy and growth. This is a BALANCE - part of the carbon CYCLE.

    Let's use an analogy. Mr and Mrs A live in a nice house with a mortgage. Every day Mrs A goes to work to earn enough money while Mr. A looks after the house buys groceries and stuff. The balance looks like this:

    Per month:

    Mortage = 500.

    Food = 100.

    Bills = 100.

    Total = 700.

    Mrs A earns 700.

    So the income (Mrs A's earnings) and the outgoings (Bills etc.) are the same.

    The bank love Mr. & Mrs A. and they have a £500 overdraft. So they can be flexible.

    So there is flexibility in the money system of the A family - if something went wrong they would be OK. There is also flexibility in many earth systems. Often earth systems have a tolerance to interference.

    Mr and Mrs A adopt a young child - Baby A. Baby A's food costs 3 every week and clothes 2 every week. So now...

    Per month:

    Mortage = 500.

    Food = 112.

    Bills = 110.

    Total = 722.

    Mrs A earns 700.

    So now the cost of living is 22 more than Mrs A earns. 22 is only 3% of the total cost of living but Mrs A's income cannot cover it. The overdraft does though. So the A family are fine - for a time.

    After 3 years the overdraft is at its limit and the A's have to make a decision - lose something (the car, the house) or Mrs A needs to earn more money.

    Although baby A only took just 3% of the expense total - this has led to a crisis.

    I hope this comparison is obvious. The earth is finely balanced and many systems contain flexibility and resilience. However - even tiny contributions can upset this balance - and over time this tiny contribution can lead to big consequences for the system as a whole.

  4. global warming is largely caused by an increase in greenhouse gasses which has been caused by humans burning fossil fuels.

    nature has had this system balanced until we began stuffing it up. although humans only emit about 5% of total world emissions, natural emissions are balanced with sincks where as human emissions don't have any checks and balances.

  5. the freaking fact is this: the more emissions the planet puts into the ozone, the weaker the layer will be. Thus holes.

  6. the temperature will be increased when th global warming starts it also keeps the earth a unsafe place to live this happens when global warming and green house gases increased

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  7. The cause of global warming and green house gasses are the factories which produce the chemicals that we see coming out of the top into the sky and when it reaches the ozone layer it realeses alot of CO2 {carbon dioxide} and punctures the ozone layer. Plus all of the private jet lines and Delta {the most cominly flown company in the world}. They also realese alot of  carbon dioxide into the atmospheric layer.
