What cell phone is popular amongst undergrats in uni in US?

I am starting uni in US and would like know which type to get

First they are "undergrad's".  Try using spell check on this site.

AT&T has many provisions such as something off for "world wide", and they have rollover minutes that are carried from month to month when you are not using them.

I had other cell's in the past, but had many problems with customer or shall I say "lack of customer service", and now I have a limited cell phone range because I want it to act like a "prepaid cell phone" because I'm tired of the $39.99 which means after Fed & State taxes it is $50 per month.

AT&T worked with me to limit my monthly range and keep the cost to about $20 per month plus taxes.

This would not work for you because when you start college you need to use your cell much more than I do.
