there are pricing and plan information on there so u can decide which one sits you

    hope tht helps :)

  3. Vodafone and Telecom are the only two.

Well there are two different options.

    1. You bring your own phone from where ever you're coming from (just as long as your phone holds sim cards, If it's a CDMA phone, don't bother). Then when you arrive in New Zealand you'll need to go to a Vodafone shop.

If you think you have a bit of money you don't mind spending and you'll be able to keep to specific limit of calls and texts. If you don't want to do that, then ask them for a 'Vodafone Sim Card Starter Pack'. Prepaid is much better value.

Basically you can go on 'Supa prepaid' (you'll have to set this up yourself, but it's not difficult) and for $10 a month you can send 2000 texts to anyone on the Vodafone network. You can also choose 3 friends who have Vodafone and become 'best mates' and then you can ring, text and video call as much as you like for $6 for each best mate.

    Mainly adults use Vodafone.

    Option 2.

You go into a Telecom shop and buy a new phone. Phones start at $100 and then go right through to about $600. Then each month you buy $10 top ups and you can either choose

    a. 500 texts to anyone on the Telecom or Vodafone network.

    b. 2000 texts to anyone on ONLY the Telecom network.

If you don't txt much then go for the first option but if you think you'll have lots of friends to txt then choose the second.

I'm not really sure about ringing on each because people don't really ring each other because it's pretty expensive. It's about 80c off peak and $1.49 peak.

If I was you I'd buy a Telecom phone (a nokia one, you'll notice there is far less choice on Telecom and the phones are a bit more expensive but the plans make up for it).
