In the computer animated movie Shrek (2001), there was a lord and ruler called Lord Farquaad. He is a fictional comedic fairytale for family fun we all know as all Shrek movies.

But what period in history was his clothing, hairstyle based on.

Im guessing 13th maybe 14th century in Europe, England?

Am I right/wrong?

  1. That's a good guess, but I think it would be hard to narrow down an exact influence.  Farquaad's hat looks 12th century Italian while the clothes do look English. The hair looks similar to later centuries, however. We would have to assume that the artists got their inspirations from whereever they could find it.
