  1. what challenges?  being confronted with evil?  I don't have an essay...but for me...many years ago...I encountered an evil presence who told me I was doing a good job.  that was enough for me to re-evaluate...also look up...danion brinkey's book.."in the light"...near death experience that made him turn from beating people up for fun cowboy to a chaplain who comforted people during death....he said he met God who told him he was a bad person and he had one more chance..to make it right...good luck...

  2. A not very great person who is actually a great example of what you seek is Adolf Hitler.

  3. Well I did some pondering on this and this is what I have come up with. Their is two big ones that come to mind as my friends below have mentioned. Life and death situations and religious ones. People fear they are not truly religious enough and wont achieve the greater reward for it. So they strive for perfection in what their religions tells them. While life and death situation can help a person revalute what truly matters to them. They found out some how they might have been able to change the situation they were in if only.... w/e it is or feel that their was something they wanted to do.

I will continue to update this.

  4. Life or death situations. Being put on the floor with a gun to my head execution like on my knees with my face to the ground really put it all in perspective for me.
