  1. They have as good a chance as anyone else has at that level.  The All Blacks haven't won since 1987 and we have been favourites every time.  So no one is discounted in my opinion.  Every one has a good shot at the World Cup, especially at that level its too close to call.

I still think Australia will be the dark horse when it comes to the Rugby World Cup.  they proved it by beating the All Blacks.

  2. Not a chance

  3. In all honestly, the days of Wales being a shoe-in for glory have long since faded (aka when mutton chops went out of style).  Keep in mind, back in the 70s the Welsh were the team to beat, and even the All Blacks would lose.  Don't get me wrong, but there is some talent in Wales.  James Hook is young but promising (providing he is allowed to play).  Obviously Shane Williams is world class,  however, those two aren't enough to make up for the glaring weakesses that remain.  Firstly, Wales is at best average in the set pieces, which means their ability to get solid first phase ball is variable.  Michael Owen is a decent ball handler, and Colin Charvis is a good tackler but other than that the forwards are ordinary, particularly in the 2nd row.  The backs have glimmers of talent but are young and inexperienced.  For all the talk of Gavin Henson being a super-star he's looked ordinary recently and Gareth Thomas is old and sick.  Dwayne Peel is good but not in comparison with Fourie du Preez, Ruan Pienaar, Piri Weepu, or Byron Kelleher (George Gregan is completely overrated and Matt Giteau won't get a shot at the 9 jumper).  And finally the full blacks look pretty generic, lacking any real pinache that other teams have.

On the bright side of all that gloom and doom is that Wales has a pretty easy pool stage, with the only real challenge coming from Australia, whom you almost beat with a 2nd string side back in June so you should make the quarters, and perhaps, if the powers that be prove themselves to be dragons at heart, maybe the semis,  but definitely not the finals.

  4. Quarter finals at best.

  5. none

  6. Wales might get to the semis. Which would be a pretty good performance.

  7. Not Much, here are my predictions:

Ireland and France are in the same group, making the outcome of that group unpredictable, France are at home but Ireland are in great form at the moment and when they lost to France they were missing BOD. So lets say that Ireland come 1st in that group, and France come 2nd. In this scenario, they will almost certainly play NZ in the next round as i heavily doubt NZ getting beaten in the group stages. Now, Ireland should get through to the finals (I'm not quite sure if they meet NZ on the way). And I know that everybody says that NZ are invincible and they cannot be beaten but they just got beaten by the Auzzies and the Springboks, so they aren't looking too comfortable at the moment, and when ever huge expectation is placed on their shoulders they choke. So my prediction is Ireland for the World Cup! COME ON IRELAND!!!!

  8. I honestly have no idea. This welsh team is the best in a generation, but it hasn't played together. through injuries and the one game the ful team played together it won (against england).

It could be a totally unknown quantity and go very far (getting 2005 form back)- or it could loose to canada. and crash out.

  9. I wouldn't bet on them but then again if they got to the semis and played a couple of ace games then I wouldn't be suprised to see them the top 2. As for winning it from their, I don't think they would - but hey, who thought that france would ever see a final??!!

  10. the era of the welsh as a rugby super power are gone and realistically 1/4 finals. You will always compete but all the new players and management in the world wont help you in this world cup.

  11. Will probably make the quarters, small chance of making the semi's, but no chance of winning it.

  12. None, really you are gutsy but thats about it ! No real chance against the Wallabies, Springboks or the chocking All Blacks ! Australia will win the final against South Africa !

  13. No Chance at all of winning .. Will get to the Quater finals but sorry .. No further ..

  14. no1 has a chance cept NZ ye de lost 2 oz but de are unstopable nd im nd from der

  15. Possibly not the answer you want to hear but they are just not good enough making it into the finals. I guess at best they will make the quarter finals but not further.

They have guts and can surprise one of the bigger teams but think that the World-Cup is just a different story.

  16. Interesting question,

what chance do Ireland the Pumas and France have is almost the same thing . Wales are in a good opening group . every chance of matching Australia (ignoring the Brisbane test). My suspicion is that upsets will come from these teams and betting on one of these is not that daft.

The welsh team have great capabilities , but as a young side need to gel that into self belief. Don't hold with the super power theory. I think that S hem teams are too busy playing league and will be caught out by flair and inteligence, Once they have finished bashing c**p out of one another the door will be wide open for the fantastic four

  17. At least the quarter finals, maybe to the semis depending who we play.

    Cymru am byth!

  18. sorry to say Wales  don't stand much chance, they just haven't got the same level as the teams such as the AB's, Aussie or the South Africans, don't get me wrong, I like Wales I would like them to do well , but they just lack the players with the high skill level.

  19. At best you'll make quarter finals. Sorry.
