What chance will I have of being able to get tagged for part of the sentence for GBH?

Being sentenced in 2 weeks for GBH. Will I have a chance of getting tagged for part of the sentence. Previously in Young Offenders for ABH 2 years ago.

You need to ask your lawyer.  I'd think there was a good chance, though, as the prisons are so full

ABH is (for a violent crime) pretty mild. I mean a black eye is ABH.

GBH is a bit more serious, thus the Grievous in it's title.

You might get a Tag if you've pleaded guilty, persuade the Judge(s) that you are truly sorry and/or get a lucky break with a soft Judge.

To be honest you need to discuss it with your Solicitor, because the fine details are where this question is answered.

Government and therefore prison policy is that violent offenders are not released on tag. Tough!

50/50 you could get quite a bit of bird for a gbh especially having previous for violence keep your head down do the courses and you might be lucky but dont bank on it,you would only get about 2 months on a tag personally i would tell them to shove it theyve never done me any favours,probation are phony.you can get a tag for violence,in the last 7yrs ive been done 5 times for violence my last stretch was a 3 1/2, i was offered tagging but i refused it they also say you cant go to an open prison but i did.

I have recently been in prison and it is government policy to refuse HDC (home detention curfew) to any crime involving violence. I would say it is more than likely you will receive a custodial sentence. If in any doubt then ask your brief.
