Why is it that a car or house and other things like that was the coolest thing ever ten years ago but now is thought of as a load of rubish now. The object hasn't changed

  1. Personal perception and values that were originally attached to any given item or situation..

  2. no but we have we expect better all the time

  3. You change. Or rather, what the media sees as desirable changes, therefore the public view changes.

There are some people who are fickle enough (in my opinion)  to only like what the media defines as cool, but then there are people who don't change very much at all.

As an example, xD I still like SatAM Sonic the Hedgehog better than most cartoons on TV. And SatAM Sonic is pretty much obsolete now. However, my views on cars change because I'm always looking for a more energy efficient one or a more environmentally safe one, etc. etc. So sometimes you change simply because you want to make things better, for whatever reason.
