What characteristics do you associate with Americans, who come from San Francisco?

I am a student taking a class in anthropology, and need some Brits' responses, who have met San Franciscans, to identify some attributes of theirs, such as physical and/or personality traits, and accents, or any other characteristics that you think represents San Franciscans, as an ethnic, or folk group.
