I just installed vista onto my old dell dimension 8200. everything's working great, but no sound. I have a turtle beach santa cruz pci card that is no longer supported. there's a work around for it, but that involves duel loading vista and xp. s***w that. i'd like to know what a good (and cheap) pci card that is compatable w\ my machine and w\ vista! thanks all!!

  1. Why did you want to ruin a perfectly good computer by putting Vista on it? As long as you are ordering parts, more RAM will be needed to the 1 GB you have.

Check out the sound cards here:

  2. Here's a list of cards for you:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis...

  3. First off, don't listen to anyone who says Vista will not run on your machine. It will.

Second off, anything Creative is pretty good, they have good drivers. Try the Creative Sound Blaster SB0570 Audigy SE 7.1 (link in sources).
