  1. Mozzarella and Parmesan

  2. Mozzarella is traditional for pizza, also seen in lasagna.

    Lasagna often contains riccota, also.

  3. Parmigano, ricotta, mozzarella, asiago are all good choices.

  4. Fresh whole-milk Mozzarella and

Parmesan Reggiano.  Pricey but worth every penny.

  5. mozzarella, asiago, mascarpone

  6. YOU CAN USE ANY CHEESE..

    There are no religious restrictions..

Stop at the Deli and ask for a sample,, they often are free..

IF you converse with the butcher and He knows your doing a lasagna you may find he will have a special treat..

  7. Lasagna typically uses 3 cheeses:

Ricotta, like cottage cheese, sometimes mixed with egg.

Mozzarella, the soft one that melts easily.

Parmesan, which is hard & sprinkled on top for browning.

  8. Mozzarella, Asiago, Monterey Jack, Fontina..........any one of these would be good.

  9. Any melty kind you have on hand... Monterey Jack is really good for almost any recipe.  Cheddar is kinda strong and greasy but will work in a pinch, especially if you mix it with another cheese.  If you have any of that mexican Queso cheese around that is AWESOME on pasta!  blend the two countries- no one will tell... :-)

    Enjoy!
