  1. Honeysuckle are vines and they will creep over and intertwine with the rose bush not allowing sun to penetrate the leaves.The honeysuckle vine will also cut off water flow to the  plant by twisting tightly around stems and trunk.  This is how a honeysuckle vine kills the rose and many other plants.
