  1. I would guess St. Jerome because he was a scholar and translated books.


  2. Augustine.  He was the only NeoPlatonic philosopher of the group.

    (NeoPlatonism was a blend of Christianity and Platonic philosophy,

    Plato being a Greek classical philosopher.)
