Hi everyone, Im a nursing student hoping and praying to be able to relocate to new zealand after school is finished and I get a couple years of exp in. I was doing a search all day on what area to live in so I just thought I would ask for your imput I will be working at a hospital, also I was from a small town and currently live in a big city which is not really all that great so a smaller kinda quiet town would be best. Thank You very much!

  1. auckland and wellington

auckland is more like a city place

where as wellington well it does have a big city but it is more spread out were as auckland everything is pushed together.

  2. Ki ora, The four main ones do, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin. My mum meme6 and others at my other home http://www.nzmessageboard.co.nz/ are nurses "If you want it from the horses mouth"

  3. multiple hospitals? well....a lot of places do. I wouldn't recommend Auckland as there is a lot of traffic and takes ages to get anywhere. Christchurch is quite a good one, it has good public transport and a heap of different hospitals.

  4. and there is a huge shortage of nurses in New Zealand so you shouldn't have any trouble finding a position.

  5. Auckland, which is NZ's biggest city, has the most hospitals.

I would suggest maybe Hamilton, or Christchurch. These are still considered 'cities' but are on a small scale and have a good feel about them. They also both have at least 2 hospitals.
