I Live in New York City and the best place to go is the Cheese Cake Factory they have really nice food beside Cheese cake. lol

Mezzodi's (Italian American)

It has some of the best beef dishes I've ever had, and I'm a steak lover. I was actually there last night, and the meat was so tender that I could just pull it apart with a fork. I've been there many times, and the food is always consistently good. The service is outstanding. The prices are reasonable.

To compare, we have an Olive Garden here in town. On any given Friday night, the wait is two hours. I used to go there every time, and each time, my meal would vary in quality. I'd always get the same thing, but it'd be greasy, just right, underseasoned, etc. That never happens at Mezzodi's. The food is always right on.

Plus, Olive Garden ships in some of its ingredients. Mezzodi's is locally owned, and they make everything right there. The beef is local beef, never frozen. The guys who own it . . . their aunt will occasionally make special desserts that aren't on the menu, and they are amazingly good. It's great to get homemade desserts at a restaurant!

Oh, and on any given Friday, the longest I've waited is 20 minutes. And that's rare.

I recommend getting the steak deburgo. Deburgo is a dish created in Des Moines, and Mezzodi's has their own twist on it. I've had deburgo at almost every steak place in this city, and theirs is the best. The full portion is two 8 or so ounce steak medallions smothered in the garlic cream sauce. When it mixes with the natural juices of the medium well steak, it's very smooth and soothing. They serve it with roasted red pepper mashed potatoes. They are the best mashed potatoes I've had in my life. It's very rich (mixed with cream cheese, I believe), but yet it has a kick.

I could go on all day about the place. I love it there. :) I'm even having my rehearsal dinner for my wedding there!

GO TO DEARBORN, MI AND EAT THAI FOOD AT THAI PALACE II ON MICHIGAN AVENUE. THERE ARE TWO OF THEM, BOTH ARE GOOD...BOTH IN DEARBORN.

Order the eggplant with the red curry sauce (with coconut) in it, it's best hot spicy, but you can adjust to your taste.

Their drunken noodles and #15 are good too (the items go by numbers)

It's SO CHEAP too! Best Thai restaurant in America!

I live north of Mora, MN.  My favorite place to eat in Mora is probably the Crystal.  I would order a Union burger basket with fried onion and onion rings instead of fries.  The burger has swiss, green olives and mushrooms.  It is very good.
