Seattle has turned out a huge number of NBA players (most recently Brandon Roy and Nate Robinson, and going all the way back to Elgin Baylor), numerous NFL stars (Warren Moon for one), golfer Fred Couples. Not so many MLB or NHL.  Don't know exactly where the city ranks, but I remember seeing an internet story a couple of years ago listing just such cities, and Seattle was among the top ones.
