At the beginning of March I plan to go to either Spain, Italy, England or Greece. I can't decide which! So, tell me anything about Spain that will help make my (wonderful!) decision easier. Thanks!

  1. in spain, you wanna visit madrid, or barcelona or one of those castles from when the moors invaded and El Cid saved the queen and blah blah blah... barcelona is nice, thers a lot of stuff, and thers the best football club in the world, you can visit the camp nou if u like football, but i really suggest greece, visit athens, the partheneon or whatever its called, its much more philosophical, it'll make u feel smarter

  2. I just love Barcelona - many of the other Spanish cities are great but Barcelona is simply fabulous

  3. Madrid is the most cosmopolitan city, it's the capitol, has many museums, the oldest plaza, Plaza de Mayor, the royal palace, etc. Very bustling city. In my opinion, the most beautiful city in Spain is Seville. You have to see it!!! I stayed on the Costa de Sol in Fuengerella(?) for a couple weeks and traveled all over. Went to Malaga, Torrremolinos, Benalmedina, basically all over the southern coast. Took a drive to Cordoba for the day. Spain is a beautiful country, very clean, rich in history, great food, friendly people, and easy to get around. The highway system is great, never a problem. I'm looking forward to another visit soon.

  4. Spain is a beautiful country with a lot to do and see! the Spanish people are wonderful and very friendly! I have been there 3 times (once for a 4 month study abroad) and I can't wait to go again a discover more about Spain!

    A brief rundown of cities:

Madrid:  Cultural - Palacio Real (royal palace), Prado (Art museum), Reina Sofia (Modern Art Museum), Plaza Mayor, etc.

Other - Great shopping and eating

Madrid is close to Toledo (Muslam city, very unique and great day to spend a day), only .5 hrs by bus and Segovia, which is home to the best preserved aquaducts in Spain plus the Alcazar, which is a castle that looks like a castle right out of a Disney movie!

Barcelona: Cultura - Guadi Arquitecture, Guadi's work gives Barcelona a very unique touch! (google the Sagrada Familia, Parque Guell etc.), Las Ramblas, Picasso Museum

Other - Shopping, Eating, and the BEACH!!

    **They speak Catalan in Barcelona.

Sevilla: Cultural - the cathedral (Christopher Colombus's remains are here) and its bell tower (la Giralda), Plaza de Espana, the Alcazar, Toro de Oro, bullring

Other - same as others (great weather in March)

**If you go during Holy Week, be prepared for a cultural experience in  Sevilla. They have processions that go on all week, they are beautiful!!

Granada: Cultural: - THE ALHAMBRA (the moorish castle where King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella finally joined Spain together and removed the last of the Moor power from Spain), The Alcaiceria (Gypsy stores)

Other great cities include Bilbao, Valencia, Caceres

Spain has a lot to do and see!! I have also traveled to England and Italy. England is a LOT more expensive but a great place to see. Italy is also beautiful, though I do not know much about the transportation systems there.

Check out the websites for information about traveling and such.

Also, if you want to check out low budget air fare try Ryanair.com or easyjet.com!

    Good luck!

  8. You have been provided ample info for Spain be it Madrid or Barcelona...also worthwhile Seville.  Depending on how long your say...you could come to Madrid and then travel a couple of days to Seville..only 2 hours 20 minutes on Train or even pop over to Barcelona (less than a 1 hour flight).  I would 100% suggest you come over to Spain-Madrid...lovely weather, lovely friendly people and a great city to visit.  Barcelona is also a fantastic city...be it Madrid or Barcelona...you are guaranteed a great time, fun, interesting, learning experience...Spain is a no miss country...you must visit.  Where ever you go...I wish you a wonderful trip and a great time.
