  2. chicago is know as the hub city ..... many lines all over the place .... My friend lived near a switching yard .. noise all night  - he didnt even hear it at all

  3. The center of the grain, meatpacking and deep-dish pizza industries: Chicago.

  4. A guess: Chicago.

  5. Historically, Chicago has been notorious for having the more railroads, although I'm not sure if that has changed in recent times, or if you count subways.

  6. Chicago by far.  Chicago has two passenger railroads: Metra locally, and Amtrak nationwide, and it is alos a freight hub for CSX, Norfolk Southern, Union Pacific, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, Kansas City Southern, and probably a couple more railroads that I am not thinking of right now.
