I am a new immigrant in canada. I need some ideas about what city will be best for me to live in. I am planning on going to college and also getting a job soon. I also do care about the costs such as renting apartments, college costs and life expenses becausing I am not financialy strong. Your ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  1. Actually if I had a choice, I'd pick Ottawa, great Quebec foods and recreational resources like bike trails, world's longest skating rink, Dow's lake and the Rideau Canal for canoeing, white water rafting on the Ottawa River up stream, Gatineau Hills for skiing biking hiking and nature, fresh clean water that comes from forest lands, clean air, classy entertainment, spring and winter festivals, and world class museums of all kinds, and university, and potential govt jobs too.

I've heard that Sudbury is actually a good choice too, lots of jobs begging to hire employees, relatively inexpensive real estate and rent, growing city and close to nature.

  2. Go to Toronto!! It's like the New York City of Ontario.

  3. London, Guelph or Windsor. The cost of living is cheap although jobs are kind of scarce.

Toronto is way too expensive that's why I left. Although many people will tell you to live there.

  4. What's all this eastern Canada baloney??  And comparing Toronto to New York City?  Is that supposed to have some kind of merit??  Egads, where's your taste??

Go west woman, the land of beauty, friendly people, great climate and excellent colleges.  I would strongly recommend Kamloops, British Columbia.  It's one of the medium sized cities in the middle of the province.  No horrible traffic, no pollution, mild winters and long, warm summers.  Check it out.
