What city would the mountains be in North Carolina that someone would live in? Thanks!

The mountains take up basically the whole western third of the state.

Asheville is by far the largest city there.  But many others including Boone, Blowing Rock, Hendersonville, Cherokee, Murphy, Hickory, Wilkesboro, Morganton, Black Mountain, Sylva, and others.

Well, there are a lot of cities in the mountains, but Asheville would probably be the most popular. In fact, it's made it on the top 10 list of most desirable cities to live in in America for several years in a row. Last year it was number one, now it's down to seven.
