  1. Oh, so you're presenting a challenge, are you?

Well, I bet I know something that you don't...

Even though Cro-Magnon aren't considered to be a "civilization" as such, the oldest known method of marking time, is the Lunar calendar!

Ivory and antler bones have been found, with repetitive markings on them, which archaelogists believe were the first Stone Age calendars...

These primitive "time pieces", are believed to be 20-25,000 years old!

  2. don't know the civilization that created it or when, but i'm pretty sure it was the sundial.

  3. You got me when it comes to what it was called, but i believe the Egyptians i guess it was called a sun dial?Let me know what it was called. Thanks!

  4. Sundials in the form of obelisks (3500 BC) and shadow clocks (1500 BC) are known from ancient Egypt and Babylon. A type of sundial is described in the Old Testament (Isaiah 38:8).(ca.700 BC) is thought to have been of an Egyptian or Babylonian design. Sundials of a wide variety of types were developed by other cultures, including the Greeks (scaphion, hemyspherium, pelekinon), Romans, and Islamic cultures. Although sundials are believed to have existed in China since ancient times, very little is known of their history.
