  1. if needed you can install a class 4 hitch on it, but a class 3 hitch will be all that truck would ever need, they will hold what ever you want to put on it,i got a class 3 hitch and i pull a car hauler with it,you can only pull so much weight with a 1500 series truck anyway so a class 3 is more than you would need,if you over load that truck you will do more damage to it,pulling ten thousand pounds or so is enough to pull with it,that's more than the truck its self weighs. good luck.

  2. They come with a Class III Hitch.  Its a half ton truck so you aren't going to be able to pull enough weight to need a Class IV hitch which is rated for towing 10,000lbs and greater.  Dodge trucks can't tow worth c**p just like Chevy's anyhow.  If you want to tow that much weight you need a 1 Ton Ford.

  3. Most 1500 trucks run with class 3 hitches on them. You can put a class 4 hitch on the truck but you would only need a class 4 hitch if you were towing 10-12K pounds. And you don't want to be towing 10K+ pounds in a 1500 truck. So yeah, you can put one on there but I wouldn't try towing that much weight with a 1500. They are not engineered to tow that much. Good luck.
