  1. Largly determined by the state you want to get licensed in.  IF you have a teaching degree already - typically there will be an additonal 25-30 credits AND student teaching.  If you are in a BS program now - a Major is typically around 60 credits.

    Contact your state to see what the requirements are if you are not currently in a four year program - contact the university if you are.


  2. It also is determined by what endorsements you are seeking, for example, I have an elementary endorsement and K-12 special ed endorsements in both cognitive and emotional impairments.  Not all colleges offer multiple endorsement areas.  Other areas include learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders, hearing impairment, visual impairment, physical impairment, etc.

  3. Contact the four year university you plan on going to.  There is usually a very specific list of classes with only one or two purely elective classes.  

    If you have trouble with it still, send me an email with a link to the college website.  

    The thing is that the list is very specific don't try to guess at the list of courses.
