  1. I worked for a staffing firm for 6 years. I have dealt with several companies seeking admins. You need to type at least 40 WPM, and have knowledge in certain soft wares. Excel, Word, email and internet literate are important. You need to be personable, dress to impress, have a good resume without any typos, and just be yourself.

  2. Take any kind of "secretarial" courses:  office practice, the most common office software, office management, filing, typing from audio, business forms, record keeping, things like that.

  3. uhm I am an admin asst for the state i live in and have no college credits.. I dont know the requirments of where you want to work, but try to bring a resume in and ask them if there are special requirements.. that would be the best way to go, because some places, if any, might want you to take certain courses depending on the duties of their department.

  4. with administrative jobs its all about the experience not neccessarily about school. But if you want to work in the business sector. Try to take business or communication classes
