  1. Computer science, definitely. Learning a programming language is a good idea too. If you want to do artwork, take art and 3D modelling classes. But above all, you're going to want a strong foundation in math and computer science, and be proficient in at least one programming language (usually C). Also, have at least one independently-developed game in your portfolio to showcase your skills.

Also, don't bother with those "GET PAID TO PLAY VIDEO GAMES" colleges, they're bull. With the exception of places like Full Sail or Digipen, of course. Big name developers (Nintendo, Valve, EA, Ubisoft, Activision, etc.) all hire the bulk of their staff from places like Digipen.

  2. Well if your talking about prerequisite subjects than you will need to pass English and Maths A,B or C. And courses in University that you'll need to complete a diploma in information technology, specializing in multimedia studies. However, entry to this occupation may be improved if you have a degree in computer science with a major in games design/programming. You will also need to pass at least year 10 and you usually need to pass your QCE (which well it's an Australian thing i think, if your from a different country it may not matter, not sure, its new).

    Hope that helped.
